Boring underground

With the construction of more underground MRT, malls, underground malls/underpass, it seems a walk around city hall/orchard area has become a walk underground and entirely indoors.

Sure, there are shops you can go to and people you can watch. But sometimes it gets real boring. All you see are the same shops every few hundred metres and throngs of people mobbing the malls.

I recommend a walk outside on the streets during evening. Slow down to a stroll. Look at the intimidating skyscrapers with the setting sun in the background. Enjoy the breeze and the blue-redish sky. See the traffic breeze by. The trees and the shrubs . . . just enjoy the sights and the sound around you as you slowly walk towards your destination.

I strongly recommend walking on the street level from city hall MRT station to suntec city/marina square than walking underground through citylink mall. Cut through the war memorial park and as you walk towards suntec city, you can see the National Library on your left and on the right you can the rotating Singapore flyer. Turn around and you can see all the skyscrapers in the raffles place financial area.

Best of all it not as crowded as city link mall.

A different kind of view, very refreshing. No rush, no squeeze.
