Mutter's Day

oh shit i was late. yet again. i had to rush back to ntu from home for my senior's camp debrief. damn the lift is taking too long! and someone actually stopped it. im rushing for godness sake!

a father a son a daughter went into the lift. the father was saying "hurry hurry!" to his children. they were dressed nicely as if they were going out. no i was wrong. when we reached the ground level, they rushed out to a woman 10metres away. both children were holding onto her both arms and the father walked slowly towards them. that's when i realised, they were going to celebrate mother's day. no big deal.

while i hurried towards the mrt station, next thing i saw was a car. how funny, the father was in the driver's seat and the children were behind but the other seat infront was empty. the children all looked excited and jumping while the father was smiling away happily. okay, its pretty obvious they are going to have a surprise for their mother. its mother's day, its common to see this.

i then reached the train station and boarded the train. mothers with flowers could be seen at each corner. i then stopped to think, what the hell am i doing? heading to ntu for debrief? its mother's day! but then again, i dont really celebrate mother's day. prehaps im a guy and it seems gayish enough to stop me from doing that. but i felt the guilt as i travelled and felt more of the mother's day atmosphere. even ah ma also have flowers!

its quite sad how i actually become who i am today, suppressing the concern i have for my family to avoid being in gay situation. im sure most guys feel the same as i do. dont mutter your concern to yourself. start making someone happy starting from today. start slowly with a simple sms : )

kelv (omg i feel gay already coming up with this entry, this is a real entry by the way, not made up)
