A special group of people

I have noticed that there is this special group of people in society that has a certain character trait that baffles me and angers me at the same time.

They are the ones who seems to be waiting in the shadows, monitoring your every move and if they saw you doing something wrong/silly, they will immediately jump out and pounce on you.

Then they proceed to magnify your mistakes and either starts scolding you or to the extreme shout at you.

Usually they are often in a position of considerable power and authority. And I often notice they usually talk nicely to their peers.

So power corrupts then? Or it simply delights them to do so?

Why can't them try a different approach? Talk nicely and calmly to one and explains to him or her his or her mistakes. I am sure any adult will listen, bear that in mind and not make the same mistake again.

But it seems they often like to show they are in charge by either raising their voice or speaking in an aggressive tone.

Wouldn't the working environment be a better one if everyone respects and trust each other instead of pouncing on people's mistakes like a lion pouncing on its prey?
