Speaking of njc, being considered as one of the elite schools in Singapore. Providing the intergrated programme to those elites, who are considered smart enough to pass O levels with flying colours. And so the gahmen decided not to hinder them and exempted them from taking Os.

It was said that people in the elite schools are in a world of their own (esp the GP ppl). With them being groomed to become future leaders of Singapore, will they lose touch with the ground? Will they understand the worries and concern of the heartlanders?

Maybe Im generalising, of course that are still people who in good schools who come from humble background.

There was a recent debate in the newspaper about whether normal neighbourhood schools will hinder the progress of the good students if they went there. Or will they fare better if they go to brand name schools?

I read some letters in the forum and they will terribly navie. One called for good teachers to be distributed evenly in all the schools and so students in neighbourhood schools will not then lose out. And so may I ask the writer what is considered a good teacher? Someone with high education levels? Someone with lower education level but able to teach effectively and able to inspire, motivate the students?

The debate is never ending, but im sure that if you are willing to learn and driven to excel, you can be successful no matter where you are.
